Italian Elections: Abstension? Oh My G**!!!

WHY? WHY? WHY?

Why are we a population of manikins? I have just gone googl(e)-ing my way to find out how the election went in MY OWN ****** COUNTRY and this is the first result I have read in google: Turnout low in Italian elections. I am so seriously upset. Is this real? We have the chance to turn around a government gone bad, and what do the Italians do? They sit on the armchairs waiting for God to change the rules of their own country!! This is sooooooooooooooo upsetting! I believe that it’s just us, Italians living abroad, to realise how bad our country is doing. We have already lost our economic power, our international respect. But apparently this is not enough. We also need to lose the face of dignity! And we are deemed to be a country where the politics are, not only old and in the hand of old people, but a country that can’t even fight for its own government and rights!! Is this democracy or stupidity???????? I’m truly and sincerely sick of the Italian attitude… I don’t really understand… There are people in the world fighting and dying in order to achieve democracy. But Italians don’t get it. No. It’s too hard to understand, isn’t it? Democracy is given for granted, that’s the problem. And what about all these excuses that everybody is making up in order to feel less guilty for not going to vote? “Uh well, nobody is worthy anyway”, “Yeah but like if who is going on next will change anything…” or “They are too old , we need new people, they are not worthy”…

SO ****** DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! . Oh my good lord, I’m so disappointed! I’m so embarrassed of being Italian. I’d love to feel proud of being Italian, as my granddad was! When he was fighting for the freedom of his country, when he was rebuilding is life and his family. When he could see that Italy was going to make a difference for him and other thousands of Italians… oh my gosh… WE ARE SO SAD! If Berlusconi goes back on power after this brilliant manoeuvre of my fellow compatriots, I’ll lose the little dignity I am hanging on to… being Italian sucks.. let me tell you!!

Now, I’ll go back to read my news, and hopefully I won’t come back for a further rant
